Swiss marathon champion Konny Looser (Stoll-Racing Team) won the longest and toughest distance of the Salzkammergut Trophy - 213 kilometers and 7.059 meters of altitude difference - with almost 10 minutes ahead of German Matthias Alberti (KTM Factory MTB Team) and Tyrolean Philip Handl (Team Texpa Simplon).

Among the women, Barbara Mayer (RC ARBÖ SK VÖEST) from Upper Austria lived up to her role as hot favorite. She won with more than 18 minutes ahead of the German Veronika Weiß. Third place went to Cemile Trommer (GER), fourth to Jana Zidekova (CZE).

Team DDMC from Germany was the winner of the team rating, ahead of Team Cyklo Atom from the Czech Republic and the "Slovak Snail Highlanders".

A total of 2.839 bikers participated in the Gravel Marathon as well as on the 7 Trophy courses - 430 of them on the extreme distance.

Due to perfect weather dropout rate on the extreme course was just under 25%! The last finishers reached Bad Goisern in pitch darkness but were celebrated like stars by the audience and especially by Mr. Trophy Devil in the finish area.

Congrats to all winners and all finishers! However, please drop us a line regarding your funniest experiences, but also suggestions, ideas or any improvements by email to umfrage@trophy.at - thanx a million!

Trophy Anniversary on Saturday, July 16 - join us!

Since its premiere in 1998, the Salzkammergut Trophy has inspired more than 70,000 bikers in total! No less than 5,682 have passed the finish line on the extreme route so far! Many participants have started out with one of the short distances increasing their performances over the years - wearing the black finisher T-Shirt rightly proud!

The Trophy Team has always been particularly keen to inspire rookies participating in the marathon. The generous time limits on the courses over 22, 37, 52 and 76 kilometers as well as the numerous refreshment stops make sure that even touring bikers master their selected distance stress-free.

The goal of the Trophy is to tackle the longest possible, but manageable distance as a personal challenge! Even on the 120 km route you are still rated with an average of 10 km/h.

Motivate your friends, colleagues or your partner to join you at the Trophy on July 16th!

Best bonding ever when reaching the finish line together; also participating in a marathon is the greatest narrative base for heroic sagas often to be talked about and laughed about years later.

The Trophy offers two perfect team competitions:

With the "team rating" a minimum of three bikers tackle the same distance. As of 10 participants the Slow-Motion-Rating will be included, in which the times of all team members are totaled, regardless of the length of the course. Those teams who have been on the track the longest will win the best prizes!

After two years with numerous restrictions, the 25th Trophy anniversary should be once again a great celebration for all cyclists! It is already possible to enter Austria without 3G proof and as of beginning of July there will be no requirements or restrictions at events. We would be really happy if you join as a participant or spectator!

On the Sunday after the Salzkammergut Trophy there will be a brand new competition in Bad Goisern, in which all marathon bikers may also participate guaranteeing a lot of biking fun and entertainment for the whole family! Ride alone, with or without motor assistance, with your partner or in a group - no matter what - just select at the start one of the three distances (25, 37 or 43 kilometers) and off you go!

There is no timekeeping, but instead fun skill challenges await you at the checkpoints for collecting as many points as possible.

The SCOTT Junior Trophy will also take place on Sunday! There we host again two competitions for children and young people between 3 and 14 years. In the XC Race, there are five age groups (U7 to U15) for those born between 2008 and 2017.

The U17 may already participate in the marathon over 22 kilometers the day before. For non-race experienced children and youngsters there will again be a parcour challenging the skills. And again, the classification into the different categories is not based on age, but on the size of the wheel.

NEW: "Vintage-Rating" at the 25th Salzkammergut Trophy

At the very first Trophy in 1998 aluminum frames, 26-inch wheels, suspension forks with a measly 50 to 80 millimeters of suspension travel, V-brakes or the hydraulic Magura HS 33 were the state of the art at the time. The real vintage mountain bikes are, of course, the early models, when our sport was still at its very beginning: steel frames, rigid forks and cantilever brakes. So for the 25th Trophy anniversary we let the good times roll with a special "vintage classification" offering three categories for old bikes and their riders:

Oldtimer: Awarding the most beautiful mountain bikes up to model year 1991 + award for the best original outfit (Jersey, cycling shorts, helmet and shoes)

Youngtimer: Award for the most beautiful 26-inch bikes with rim brakes from model year 1992 onwards

All bikers participating with 26-inch bikes will also be included - in addition to age group-  and team ratings  -  in a special result listing on all routes! So: down in the basement, dust off the 26-inch buck and get fit for the Trophy 2022!

In addition to the online-registration , just send an email with subject "vintage" & participant ID to vintage@trophy.at !
