19. Salzkammergut-Trophy – Register NOW!

July 9th 2016 – a date which has been highlighted in their calendars by many marathon fans. For the 19th edition of the Salzkammergut Trophy more than 4.000 entries so far, 800 for the extreme distance! So, more than 4.500 bikers from more than 40 nations are expected again to tackle the seven different distances.

Bad Ischl will host the 60,4 kilometer All-Mountain-course for the fourth time this year and again the three most difficult down hills of the extreme distance need to be challenged. On Sunday the closing event is the SCOTT Junior Trophy as well as the unicycle down-hill.

New in 2016 – a special competition just for eMountainbikes on a 36 kilometer course. Three course sections are going to be rated: two steep climbs as well as a technically challenging trial in the valley, however the whole distances has to be completed within a certain time limit. With this new modus winning this race requires the perfect mix of endurance, technical skills as well as the proper battery management. Those who want to experience the Uphill-Flow of an eMTB check out the Expo during the Trophy weekend: more than 100 e-mountain bikes are available for testing. Also guided eMTB-Tours are offered for the first time!

SCOTT Junior Trophy NEW!

Last year more than 400 kids and youngsters between three and 14 participated in the SCOTT Junior Trophy. The number of entries has already increased by 25 % so far! In particular, there is great feedback regarding the brand new parcours-contests!  Hereby the participants have the opportunity to tackle the various obstacles proving their biking skills without any time pressure. The classification is not according to the age groups but to the wheel seize!

There will be no XC races anymore for the kids of the U7! Starting at U9 age group and older, the kids can decide for themselves if they want to tackle the parocurs without timing or the XC-Rennen with timing. Up to U13 there will be entirely separated races for girls and boys. In the U15 they will continue starting together as the starting filed is not as big.

NEW: „E-Bike Trophy“

In 2016, as part of the Salzkammergut Trophy, there will be for the first time a contest for pedelecs. The 36 km long course has about 1.200 meter altitude difference. The timing will take place at three course sections only. Two climbs and the last trail before the finish are going to be rated, still the whole distance has be tackled within a certain time limit. Those who want to have a top rating need make sure that they bike most economically between the sections.  

Those who do not have an e-bike yet, have various opportunities to inform themselves at the Bike-Expo during the Trophy weekend. More than 80 exhibitors present the latest products in the bike scene; many stands provide also test bikes by renowned producers. There are also going to be guided e-bike test tours along the mountains of Bad Goisern.

Trophy-Preparation Week

From June 4th until 11th, the Four-Star-Hotel Sommerhof in Gosau offers a special Trophy-Preparation Week including four guided mountain bike tours. Lukas Islitzer, fifth at the Crocodile Trophy in Australia will join us for one day. The hotel is the perfect starting point for bike tours through the Salzkammergut as well as for trekking tours within the breathtaking Dachstein area; and furthermore offers for active and sporty parents a day care center. The family-friendly hotel offers a great Wellness area, spacious rooms as well as an excellent cuisine.

Check out the special offer  during the Trophy from July 3rd until July 10th! Guests who bike in a Sommerhof- Jersey may keep it after the race!  Entry fee is also included in the package deal!

UEC Masters European Championship in Bad Goisern!

Bad Goisern will host the UEC Masters European Championship on July 9th 2016. Eligible are all licensed bikers born 1986 or older.

The women start in Obertraun on a 76,0 km distance  (2.446 altitude difference) in three different categories. The men will tackle a 119,5 km distance (3.838 altitude difference) in seven categories for the blue European Champion Jersey.
