More than 3.400 participants from 30 nations tackled one of the four distances at the 11th Salzkammergut under extreme weather condition. Besides numerous amateur bikers half of the world's marathon elite came to Bad Goisern.

Ondrej Fojtik (CZE) from Team "Toyota Kellys” was holding for a long time the fifth position - but during the second part of the race he increased his speed leaving some bikers behind. The Swiss Andrea Huser leading from the start wins for the second time the long distance in Bad Goisern. The German Doris Steenfatt from Conway Factory Team comes in second. Only seven minutes behind last year's winner Anita Waiß from ARBÖ Merida Polizei Wien in third position.  more

Giro Winner Gilberto Simoni (ITA) wins the 109,7 Kilometer!

What a thrilling race! This was a fight to the finish for the two Columbian racers Leonardo Paez and Julio Caro from the Gewiss-Bianchi Team and twice Giro winner Gilberto Simoni (Diquigiovanni Androni), Massimo de Bertolis (Full Dynamix SAS) and Heinz Verbnjak (AUT)!  more

Jennifer O'Connor (NZL) ahead
of Ruth Hagen (AUT)

The fastest biker queen on the 109,7 kilometer distance was Jennifer O'Connor (Paterson Training) from New Zealand. The last year's runner up improved her time by half an hour and won with 05:56:45! Ruth Hagen (Team Merida) from Vorarlberg Austria came in second and Pavlína Černá (CZE) came in third.  more

U17 biker wins rookie marathon

The 16 years old Felix Spensberger (Martins Bikeshop / Team Simplon) from Rosenheim needs only a little more than an hour was outclassing all bikers on the shortest distance! Daniel Hochstraßer from ASKÖ Eybl Laufrad Steyr comes in second on the 26,6 kilometer course.  more

Already 30 unicyclists signed up for the second Salzkammergut "Muni" Trophy. Winner Martin Reidlinger from Neumarkt in Styria outclasses all his competitors especially at the steep climb towards the Hochmuth. Andrea Pomberger from Bad Goisern is the first female Muni is on the podium!

CA & Friends Team wins Slow-Motion-Rating

The 111 finisher of the CA & Friends Teams were able to win the Slow-Motion-Rating. In the final rating the team had a lead of almost 38 hours over Slovak Snail Highlanders, who had won the team rating in 2006 and 2007. All CA & Friends team members were happy receiving a Jersey by Redvil. Mr Andreas Engelhardt biked for 1700 Euros - a charity biking founded by the CA & Friends Team ...  more

Junior Trophy in Gosau

A great success was also the Junior Trophy in Gosau! Kids and teens from the age five up to sixteen had great fun in tackling one of the courses between 1.5 km and 15,5 km. The starting field with 193 young talents from Austria, Germany, Estonia, Italy, Croatia, Norway, Switzerland, Slovakia, Spain, Czech Republic and Hungary was highly international.

On July 12, 2008 there will be a live video stream on the internet presented by cameleon-online.tv - from the first start at 5:00 am until the winners' ceremony until 10:00 pm - ten camera teams will permanently broadcast images of the most spectacular spots of the extreme course as well breathtaking panorama shots from one of the most beautiful areas of Austria.  more

The favorites of the Extreme track

This year it will be again a get-together of many well known favorites competing against each other at the extreme course of the Trophy. Stefan Kogler from St. Gilgen, Stefan Donowski from Hamburg, Valentin Zeller from Bad Ischl and Henrik Scharf from Berlin have met already many times at the start. So this year again it will be a tight and exciting fight between Germany and Austria!  more

World elite on the 110 km distance

With his World Championship title Massimo de Bertolis celebrated in 2004 in Bad Goisern his biggest success. However there are also Leonardo Paez (COL), Thomas Dietsch (FRA), and the two times winner of the Gior Italia Gilberto Simoni, Roland Stauder (ITA) as well as Thomas Nicke and Andreas Strobel from Deutschland on the start. Austria is represented by Heinz Verbnjak and Roman Rametsteiner.

Unicylist -Downhill July 13, 2008 in Gosau

So besides the Muni Marathon - for the first time there is going to be a Muni downhill competition at the Salzkammergut Trophy! The Gosaukammbahn takes you to the Zwieselalm at an elevation of 1.587 meters. After a mass start a 3.5 kilometer long downhill with more than 750 meters altitude difference along hiking trails and ski slopes will be tackled!  more

New! Hotel Shuttle

Since there are hardly any rooms left in Bad Goisern during the Trophy weekend the Tourismusverband Inneres Salzkammergut has organized now as a special service cheap hotel shuttles from Obertraun, Hallstatt and Gosau to the start in Bad Goisern.

From Gosau there will be an additional shuttle service to the bikers' meeting on Friday and to Filmnacht.
